“Each work of art has an impulse for its appearance. There is a certain amount of energy that causes a great desire to be realized in its form, line, and composition.

Life with all its manifestations becomes such an impetus. Music and poetry by my favorite composers and poets became great inspiration for my artworks.

However, I get the most inspiration from situations in my life, which I try to comprehend, feel and transmit on canvas, paper or other materials.

While studying at Ivan Trush Lviv College of Decorative and Fine Arts, and later at Lviv National Academy of Arts( Ukraine), I tried to express myself through ceramics, graphics, painting. I prefer painting with acrylic and tempera on canvas, cardboard or wood. This technique allows me to achieve results through lines, color, light and shadow that I find most important.

Lines appear first, then I create planes. Lines and planes dictate their shape, form and color. During this process I create a coherent composition of harmony or disharmony, light, combination of colors, shapes, and their harmonization.

The main idea of my works is to search for answers to eternal questions, which humanity is concerned about. It is also my desire to convey the incredible beauty of our universe and our planet through the prism of my worldview, and attempt to fly into other worlds, that are as real as ours.

Many of pieces were influenced by the prominent Ukrainian poet, Bohdan Ihor Antonych, as well as the natural landscapes of my native country as a contemplative examination of our corporeal existence through the use of pastoral symbolism.” ~Olha Fedoruk
