Living in a modern world characterized by a fast-paced lifestyle, technological advancements, and a constant search for happiness and perfection, I believe that the answers can be found in nature. Drawing inspiration from nature's vibrant sunsets, starry skies, powerful storms, and serene snowfalls, I see reflections of life's highs and lows, profound joy, and heart-wrenching sadness. In nature, I discover the perfect balance between order and chaos, where harmony thrives.
Working with clay, a material sourced from nature, I acknowledge its initial unattractiveness – cold, wet, and formless. However, through hands and energy, I unveil the clay's hidden beauty, giving it shape and imbuing it with emotion. Each sculpture I create serves as an invitation for individuals to reconnect with their own nature, to listen to their inner selves, and to find beauty and meaning in every irregularity, curve, and shape – not just within the artwork but also within their own lives. Embracing the philosophy that each sculpture is unique and unrepeatable, just like each person, my creations celebrate the individuality and beauty that resides within all of us.
The creative journey began in 2000. when I started studying ceramics and sculpting art with the ceramist Audronė Skarbaliūtė. During my childhood, I participated in local contests and various exhibitions. The essential works of this period are published in the book "The miracle of the moment" (authors: Audronė Skarbaliūtė, Leonas Glinskis).
In 2019 I started my professional art journey. The works acquired a mature and distinctive character.
2020 I together with my husband established LES ALEKNA brand. Together we create handbuilt sculptural concrete furniture, adapting it to different interiors.
